Welcome to the Stroud and District Athletic Club website.

We are an Athletics club based in Stroud, Gloucestershire that provides coaching and training for a wide range of athletic activities from beginners running, junior athletics, Cross Country all the way through to Elite running activities.

Whatever your interest or ability we can help.

We meet on Tuesdays and Thursday and details of where we meet can be found in the box below.

Glos County Championships - September 7th

Please find below the timetable and entry forms for the upcoming Glos County Champs Part 3, consisting 4 x 100m relay, 4 x 400m relay, 1 mile and 10000 metres which will take place at the Prince of Wales Stadium in Cheltenham on the evening of Friday 7th September 2018.  

Guest entries in all the events will be accepted, but they are not eligible for county medals.

Stroud Half Marathon training schedules

Here are a couple of suggested schedules for runners looking to run the half in 2:00 hours or 2:15. As ever, these schedules should not be treated as rigid plans but a structure to build your training around. They incorporate the essential long, slow distance run at weekends and a mixture of hills, speedwork, fartlek and tempo during the week for variety and interest. The fourth session is usually cross training (swimming, cycling, walking, gym or Parkrun) and the three rest days are very important for recovery - particularly as the mileage grows.

Stroud Half Marathon training

It is 12 weeks to Stroud Half - traditionally time to dust off the training schedules and start to build the mileage gradually to peak on the 21st Oct and enjoy a great race. Here is a sensible schedule for those relatively new to Half Marathons or perhaps running their first Half this year.
