On Saturday our teams travelled to Bristol and took part in the County X-Country Championships. Congratulations to our senior and masters ladies teams who ran on a tough and muddy course to clinch 1st team places in the championships.
Results as follows:
1st place Zoe Wassell, 4th Jane Wassell, 7th Emeila Errington, 8th Emily Chandler, 10th Vicky Price, 11th Jo Fifield and 21st Gill Tavner
Strong performances from our male team too whose results were as follows:
14th Martin Wood 35:17, 17th Jerome Boyd 35:52, 23rd Thomas Bury 37:00, 31st Freddie Wilson 38:00, 45th Alan Pitt 39:15, 49th George Robinson 39:40, 60th Michael Stevenson 42:04, 62nd Adam Tavner 42:40 and Lewis Saunders 54:32.
In addition to the great senior performances, SDAC Juniors stormed to the finish line. Team golds in U13 girls; U15 girls; U17 boys; U20 girls. Team bronze in U11 girls; U15 girls. Watching the races, the approaching lead groups all looked like a tidal wave of green vests.
These results include 4 individual county champions in Noah Lambert, Merry Hilton, Lydia Attwell and Zoe Wassell, as well as silver/bronze for Ellie Mortimer, Grace Tavner, Liam Daily, and Amelia Errington.
Meanwhile, at the SW Counties Indoor Champs, Annie Testar took gold in the U17 800, whilst Ruby Brook secured silver in the U15 800.
Next up - next week Tom Mortimer will represent England in Edinburgh, followed the next week by a GB vest in Seville.
