2018 Stroud Beer Race Results

Thanks to everyone who took part in last nights Beer Race, especially the Marshalls without whom the race could not have taken place.

The results are now available through the the database on our race pages or via this pdf.

Some feedback we have received via our website from this years runners:

" Hi , I ran this evening's Beer Race and I wanted to say what an excellent time I had. As a slower runner (I was third from last) I found the race marshals to be outstanding - so encouraging especially as they had to see me three times! All of them were cheery and it really made the race for me. Also all the faster runners who lapped me - every one - uttered words of encouragement  - clearly you attract a very high class of runner. Thank you to all for waiting for me and thank you for organising such a great event in such a beautiful setting."

"Hi, just wanted to say thank you for organising a fabulous event. I had wanted to do this race for a number of years and finally got around to doing it last night. The route is wonderful, but, so was the organisation and the marshalling. A big thanks to all who put this event on.

I will encourage more of my Dursley RC members to attend next year. Cheers, Dave"

"Just a note to say how much I appreciated the support of your marshalls and whipper in Jackie in the Beer Race on Monday.  My first race since the Stroud Half 8 or 9 years ago and it was just as I remembered all good or decent club members not a fun runner in sight for me to beat and get some self respect.  The first time in my life that I have been last in a race!!

The time was a depressing but it was very useful message not to be ambitious in the Swansea half marathon in 2 weeks time.

Anyway thanks to your marshalls and my apologies for keeping them out of the bar for 4 minutes longer than  necessary.  Incidentally a very impressive number willing to give up their time on a Monday night.

My regards to Peter Brook or is it Brookes and Bill who used to organise the evening training sessions when I was briefly a member.

Anthony Fisher"
